We are looking for an individual with proven management and technical skills to be responsible for the management of the council’s Audit, Risk and Counter Fraud Unit. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Property Services, you will be responsible for providing an internal audit, risk management and counter fraud service, and will play a key role in ensuring that the council maintains effective oversight of its framework of governance, risk management and control.
You will be required to maintain an up to date knowledge of all developments in public sector internal audit, risk management and counter fraud, and ensure that the authority’s interests are protected at all times.
In your role you will require to forge working relationships both within the council and with external parties and personally demonstrate an innovative management approach. You will be a member of a chartered accountancy institute or chartered institute of internal auditors and will demonstrate a high degree of commitment in the drive for continuous personal, staff and service improvement. You will also be able to demonstrate a successful record in a public sector internal audit, risk management or counter fraud role.
