My client, a highly-respected, diverse Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Senior Drainage Engineer to join their growing team of experts in the exciting city of Derby, in the Midlands region of England.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, or a similar, relevant discipline
  • Extensive experience in drainage design within the infrastructure and/or development sectors
  • Excellent knowledge of UK engineering standards relating to drainage and highways, including the relevant Section Agreements
  • Experience of working with the relevant Section Agreements (S104 and S106), and the interpretation and discharge of planning conditions
  • Good working knowledge of the relevant software packages, including MicroDrainage, Civils 3D, AutoCAD, and other, similar programmes
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement and management, dealing with a range of client needs
  • Ability to manage projects at all stages, from conception through to successful delivery

In your exciting role of Senior Drainage Engineer, you will join an expert team of design and engineering specialists, with a view to developing and progressing within your career. The role will involve a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Manage the design and implementation of drainage systems for a range of new build and redevelopment projects
  • Produce conceptual drainage and infrastructure designs, from at all stages of the construction process
  • Work with other colleagues and stakeholders to produce integrated design solutions
  • Liaise with clients and other stakeholders, providing them with technical guidance and support
  • Lead the preparation of design reports, drawings, and technical memorandums
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of planning applications, coordinating with local authorities and other clients
  • Mentor junior engineers and other colleagues in their development
  • Provide business development support, contributing to the preparation of business proposals, etc.
