About the job
You will be joining Albany Beck to support the implementation of a new core banking and wealth platform using Avaloq for a leading Wealth Management firm. This strategic transformation programme aims to modernise and streamline front-to-back operations, consolidate systems, and enhance digital capabilities across the client lifecycle.
As part of this large-scale implementation, a dedicated Data Migration Lead is required to own and drive the end-to-end data migration strategy and execution. You will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, third-party vendors, and system integrators to ensure the successful migration of data from legacy platforms into Avaloq—supporting key phases of the project lifecycle including design, testing, cutover, and post-go-live stabilisation.
Knowledge/Experience
- Proven experience leading data migration workstreams within large-scale system implementations, preferably in the banking or wealth management sector.
- Deep understanding of core banking or wealth management platforms, ideally with prior exposure to Avaloq (desirable but not essential).
- Strong knowledge of data migration methodologies including data mapping, extraction, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
- Experience working with legacy systems and managing complex data landscapes including customer, account, transaction, product, and portfolio data.
- Understanding of the regulatory and operational implications of data handling in financial services, particularly within private banking or wealth management environments.
- Familiarity with data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and GDPR/compliance considerations related to data migration.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and coordinating across multi-functional project teams.

- Data analysis, profiling, and mapping across multiple systems.
- End-to-end data migration planning and execution.
- Defect management, reconciliation, and exception handling.
- Strong documentation and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Advanced stakeholder management, risk management, and issue resolution.
- Comfortable working in agile or hybrid delivery environments.
- SQL, ETL tools, and/or scripting languages for hands-on data tasks (desirable).
Background
- Experience in Private Banking, Wealth Management, or Investment Management firms (preferred).
- Prior experience on Avaloq or similar platform implementations (desirable).
- Proven track record of data leadership roles in transformation projects at financial institutions or consulting firms.
