Overview

A teaching assistant is needed for an independent school in North London for neurodivergent children aged 11–14. The role is based in North London with access to good transport links. The employer promotes a supportive team environment and strong leadership and resources.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

  • Providing academic support, either one-on-one or in a small group.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture and providing emotional support when needed.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control.
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery.
  • Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students.

Teaching Assistant Requirements

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A clear and up-to-date DBS.
  • Experience working as a teaching assistant.
  • A patient and calm attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
