Client Details

The Bank spans multiple continents and enjoys a strong capital markets, corporate bank, private bank and (in specific locations) retail bank. Its acquisition opens further doors to M&A and execution services as well as some insurance lines.
Description
- Adhering to the month-end close timetable.
- Assist and expand to take ownership of the month-end close of the balance sheet and income statement.
- Complete the production of balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules and investigating variances.
- Support the preparation of monthly business performance reporting to management including income statement and balance sheet with pertinent commentary.
- Supporting the wider UK finance team functions including Legal Entity Control, Product Control, Regulatory Reporting and Tax.
- Provide general accounting support to all levels of staff and management.
- Assisting with audit requests including preparation of reconciliations, organizing documents, and responding to enquiries.
- Supporting in the production of the year-end financial statements.
- Maintain strong internal controls and drafting of documentation.
- Involvement in the acquired business integration with the group, including but not limited to the general ledger integration, redrafting, actioning and operationalizing policies and agreements and uplifting acquired business practices to group policies.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and assist with projects as required.
- Working within other international operations.
Profile
- Qualified Accountant and a Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance (preferred but not essential).
- Come from other Bank, M&A house, Private Bank or FS equivalent boutique.
- Very good understanding of accounting principles (FRS 102 / IFRS) and UK GAAP.
- Ability to work autonomously, managing a busy and varied workload and develop/improve processes where necessary.
- Understanding of public company Sarbanes-Oxley controls and importance of adherence to them would be desirable.
- The role will suit a highly motivated and ambitious individual with excellent technical and excel skills with an opportunity to learn and develop their career within the finance function in the Financial Services industry.
Job Offer
- Base salary range £65,000 to £75,000.
