We are looking for experienced and motivated Automation Engineers with expertise in Emerson DeltaV Process Control Systems (PCS) and/or Building Management Systems (BMS) to work on our client’s biotechnology start-up facility in North East England. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a high-performing automation team delivering critical systems in a GMP-regulated environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the site-based automation engineering team to support system integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure automation systems meet regulatory, safety, and operational standards, including adherence to ISA-88 (S88) batch control principles.
- Support commissioning, qualification, and validation of automation systems in collaboration with CQV and Operations teams.
- Participate in the development, testing, and deployment of automation changes, and maintain documentation in compliance with GMP requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical automation role, ideally in a start-up or commercial manufacturing setting.
- Strong working knowledge of DeltaV PCS and/or Building Management Systems.
- Proficient in S88 batch programming, troubleshooting, and control system configuration.
- Comfortable working within a cross-functional, site-based automation team.
