This is an excellent opportunity for Linux Administration to be part of leading-edge technology projects. Cognizant’s Cloud, Infrastructure & Security Services Practice provides end-to-end solutions covering architecture, design, implementation, management, and on-going support across the entire enterprise technology infrastructure. Our services include a spectrum of management, consulting, and systems integration services to help our clients maximize value in their infrastructure resources, while optimizing infrastructure performance and cost.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Interact regularly with application teams and other infrastructure units to ensure seamless integration and operations.
- Understand functional and business requirements, and translate them into detailed technical specifications for implementation.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential problems to ensure optimal customer satisfaction and system performance.
- Participate actively in stakeholder meetings, delivery team discussions, and other relevant collaboration forums.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support infrastructure and application reliability.
- Recommend and implement industry best practices in infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance standards.
Technical Skills and Requirements
- Linux Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Operating System and cluster environments (e.g., VCS Infoscale).
- DevOps & Automation: Proficient in using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Puppet for orchestration, configuration management, and CI/CD automation.
- Scripting Skills: Skilled in scripting languages like Python, Shell, and Puppet for automating data management and system administration tasks.
- Virtualization: Working knowledge of VMware, VirtualBox, or other virtualization technologies including hypervisor-level configurations.
- Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, especially TCP/IP protocols, port management, and firewall configurations.
- API Development & Testing: Experience in developing REST APIs and performing integration using tools such as MuleSoft or Postman.
- Configuration Management: Capable of developing and integrating Ansible playbooks for automated provisioning and deployment processes.
Preferred Skills
- Relevant certifications in Linux (RHCE), DevOps, VMware, or Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Relevant experience in infrastructure management or DevOps engineering roles.
