Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the operations of a 100+ vehicle and trailer fleet. The role involves leading a team of 7 (including workshop and assistant managers), ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, and managing budgets, maintenance schedules, and driver performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as named Transport Manager on the Operator Licence, ensuring legal compliance.
- Manage driver hours, tachograph regulations, and incidents.
- Lead internal audits and maintain compliance processes.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance in coordination with the Workshop Manager.
- Plan budgets, control costs, and manage supplier contracts.
- Handle breakdowns, emergency repairs, and out-of-hours coordination.
Requirements:
- CPC in Transport Management (essential)
- HGV Licence (Class 1 preferred)
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and excellent leadership skills
