Residential property locum required for an immediate start to help a small high street firm with an influx of new work. This is a full-time role in the office on an ongoing contract.

Description

The Conveyancing Locum will be:

  • Managing full conveyancing transactions (sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity)
  • Progressing cases from initial instruction to completion
  • Raising and responding to enquiries, ordering searches and discharge of mortgages
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors
  • Preparing contracts, completion statements, SDLT forms, and Land Registry applications
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and anti-money-laundering requirements
  • Maintaining accurate case records and billing efficiently
  • Providing excellent client updates and supporting Head of Conveyancing

Profile

The Conveyancing Locum should be:

  • A solicitor or equivalent with 5+ years' residential conveyancing experience
  • Competent with freehold, leasehold, remortgage, and transfer of equity matters
  • Experienced in SDLT, Land Registry and legal compliance
  • Confident in client and stakeholder communication
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage workload independently
