This firm pride themselves on their dedication to environmental responsibility and dynamic approach to the metal recycling industry and turnover £20m+. In an attempt to grow the business further and take it to the next level our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to join their executive team. The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, driving the financial strategy, and ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business with a view to a group acquisition in three years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability goals.
- Budget Management: Oversee the preparation and management of the company's budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company's cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management, board members, and external stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Audit and Compliance: Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role. Ideally from a waste management company, but other sectors are considered.
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, financial planning, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
- Attributes: High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
