Team Size: Approx 70 engineers

We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to join our large Financial Services client on an interim basis. You will be leading the strategic direction of the engineering function, aligning technology initiatives with business goals. This role involves overseeing cloud strategy, engineering governance, risk management, and team development. You'll drive innovation, manage large-scale delivery, and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering strategy, governance, and cloud enablement.
  • Oversee DevOps, CI/CD, and platform tooling.
  • Manage risk frameworks and compliance.
  • Drive performance through DORA metrics and KPIs.
  • Develop talent and career frameworks.
  • Collaborate with architecture and delivery teams.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong background in SDLC, DevOps, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience with containerization, automation, and modern development tools.
  • Proven leadership of large teams and budgets.

  • Financial Services or Life and Pensions Experience.
