JOB PURPOSE
As an Oil Terminal Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment at oil terminals. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical components related to oil storage, pumping, and distribution systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly. We offer a generous pension scheme and life assurance, the position is 37.5 hours per week on a 4 days Monday to Thursday / Tuesday to Friday rota.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components at the oil terminal.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential electrical problems.
- Analyze and interpret electrical schematics to identify and resolve issues.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring electrical problems.
- Calibrate and adjust electrical equipment to ensure accurate and efficient operation.
- Perform routine checks on electrical instruments and gauges to maintain accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Document equipment specifications, serial numbers, and calibration data.
- Coordinate with other maintenance and operations personnel to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall terminal functionality.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding work progress and challenges.

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work.

- Ability to work in various physical situations and be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Level 3 Electrical qualification / completion of an apprenticeship program in Electrical industry.
- Electrical Installation - TIE16 Installing cables in an Intrinsically Safe system and TIE17 (Ex) Install, Gland and Terminate Power Cables.
- Electrical Maintenance - TEM10 Hazardous area inspection of electrical equipment CompEx EX01-04 Qualification.
- Proven experience as an electrician.
