Lloyd Recruitment Services are working with an excellent local client who is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator (trainee) to join their busy and well-established manufacturing team near East Grinstead. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that specialises in high-quality fabrications for the roofing and cladding industry. Full training will be provided for a practical, enthusiastic individual with the right attitude and a keen eye for quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up press brake machinery to bend and shape sheet metal
- Use mechanical guillotines to cut sheet metal to specific lengths
- Fabricate components according to technical drawings
- Use hand tools (grinders, drills, jigsaws) for fabrication work
- Interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings and manager instructions
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines
- Support with dispatch prep and loading when needed
- Maintain and inspect tools and equipment
- Adhere to all safety and quality standards within the workshop
What We're Looking For:
- Proficiency in basic maths (GCSE Grade 4 minimum or equivalent)
- Hands on approach to work and desire to learn
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Must have a full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle due to location
- Previous experience in sheet metal/fabrication/CNC press brakes or manufacturing (advantageous)
