A specialist UK-based Environmental and Engineering Consultancy is looking to recruit a Senior or Principal Air Quality Consultant to join their well-established team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to lead compliance-based air quality projects, support client delivery, and mentor junior staff within a growing consultancy.

Essential Criteria:

  • 5+ years' experience in air quality consultancy or regulatory roles.
  • Strong knowledge of UK air quality legislation and compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrable experience with dispersion modelling tools (e.g., ADMS, AERMOD).
  • Excellent project management, reporting, and client liaison skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree (BSc or MSc) in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field (engineering background preferred).
  • Experience delivering air quality assessments for permitting, planning, or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to support business development and mentor junior team members.
  • Chartered or working toward chartership (IAQM/IES).

The Role:

As a Senior or Principal Consultant, you will take a lead role in the delivery of technically robust air quality and emissions assessments. This includes supporting regulatory compliance, dispersion modelling, reporting, and managing relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading air quality impact and compliance assessments.
  • Overseeing data analysis, modelling, and technical report preparation.
  • Managing projects across various sectors including industrial, energy, and development.
  • Mentoring junior consultants and contributing to team growth.
