With 25 years of expertise in land promotion, planning, and development, they work collaboratively with local authorities, landowners, and end users to bring forward high-quality schemes that meet the evolving needs of local communities.
The Role
They are seeking a commercially-minded, fully qualified accountant to join their team in a newly created, full-time permanent role, located in Alsager, Cheshire. Ideally, you'll bring experience from the property development sector, although this is not essential. What is essential is strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the finance function and contribute to the strategic direction of a growing, dynamic business.
What you'll be doing:
- Full ownership of financial management and reporting, working closely with the Managing Director
- Provide commercial insight and support strategic decision-making
- Develop financial forecasts and long-term business plans
- Review investment levels and shareholder return expectations
- Manage company cash flow and produce weekly forecasts and budgets
- Source project funding when required
- Produce monthly management accounts and reports
- Maintain the asset register
- Prepare year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
- Manage NatWest Bankline transactions
- Lead and support the professional development of an Assistant Accountant
Skills and Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years' of relevant experience in a similar role within an SME environment
- Proven ability to manage all aspects of the finance function
- Highly organised, with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously
- Strong budgeting and forecasting capabilities
- Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with Sage Accounting Software preferred
