We have an exciting opportunity for a HSE Manager to join our Management Team at Pilgrim's Europe, Hyde, supporting and driving the Site in Health, Safety and Environmental performance. Delivering and tracking strategic initiatives and improvement programmes, as well as ensuring the day-to-day work is complete. There will be aligned and prioritised goals from group to site level with a clear focus on delivering customer CSR requirements, including cost savings and new initiatives. Focusing on the long-term vision of making the sites self-sufficient in the management of HSE issues and leading the change towards an intervention culture.
Accountabilities:
- To advise, guide and coach management on all matters relating to environment, health & safety.
- Communicate and monitor the delivery of the corporate strategy.
- Ensure understanding and implementation of management systems in line with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 / HSG 65 where appropriate.
- Support the group utility reduction programme and support on projects to deliver resource efficiency savings, identifying areas to reduce cost and maximise profit.
- Liaison with any regulatory body i.e. Health and Safety Executive / Environmental Agency.
The ideal candidate will have a NEBOSH General Certificate, Level 3 Equivalent qualification or experience level. Have the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to the fast-paced and ever-changing environment. You will have significant experience in health, safety and environmental management and systems experience e.g. ISO 14001, OHS 18001, HSG 65 as well as knowledge of current and future UK and EU environmental and health & safety legislation. You will have a passion for HSE, be focused and results-driven with strong communication skills and a team player.
