Avondale Foods is a leading food manufacturing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses including Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Dunnes, Morrisons, Aldi & Lidl throughout the UK & Ireland. Working as part of the Finance team, this is a newly created role to support the growth of the business. The role of the Cost Accountant is to manage product costing and have responsibility for supporting financial management to maximise profitability as well as business partner with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage product costings within the business
- Business partner with senior stakeholders including NPD, Commercial and Operations
- Manage standard cost roll-ups and impact on stock valuation
- Manage master data within the recipe system and manufacturing system ensuring costs and prices are accurate
- Reporting weekly on variances, including PPV, PVs and Labour
- Supporting the post launch review process
- Supporting the Head of Finance with analysis to report on profitability
- Supporting finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Carry out any other administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the department
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably required
- Contribute to the development of a culture of Integrity, collaboration do the right thing approach in all interactions.
- Ensure Food Safety compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to remain audit-ready at all times
Essential Criteria
- A qualified or part qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA)
- Proven track record in cost accounting, standard costing and variance analysis
- Experience with recipe management systems and ERP
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent Attention to detail
- 3-5 years experience in FMCG
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of using Point 74
- Experience of using Microsoft Navision
- Proficient in the use of pivot tables and formulas
