The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Hull area. We are looking for experienced Class 1 Trampers Driver (General Haulage) to join the team. Hours: Tramping shifts across Monday to Sunday, start times from 0400am (shifts can be up to 15 hours). Pay Rate: £14.50 to £16.25 per hour PAYE + £25 night out allowance. Location: Hull, HU9. Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate. The role: Transport curtainsided continental trailers from the ports in Immingham (CLDN, Stenaline, and DFDS) to various destinations across the UK. Perform full strip-down of trailers as required. Secure goods for export with proper strapping techniques. Conduct multi-drop trailer deliveries as needed. Reload trailers and return them to the port in Immingham. Adhere to tachograph regulations and use the maximum hours legally allowed. Start times vary based on job assignments, with potential starts as early as 04:00. Requirements: Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E). A minimum of 2 years proven experience driving the relevant vehicle. Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card. No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only). Full understanding of WTD legislation. Excellent communication skills. A safety-first mindset. Possession of all necessary PPE, including trousers, t-shirts, hard hat with chin strap, safety specs, ear defenders, hi-viz vest or jacket, and safety boots (boots are mandatory). Experience at Scunthorpe steel works (British Steel site) is advantageous but not essential. Comprehensive understanding of tachograph regulations. Be accustomed to nights out in the cab.
