As a Street Lighting Operative, your main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Maintenance of lighting columns, lighting brackets, lanterns, bollards and signs.
  • Changing of lamps, lanterns, covers, electric cells, fuses, capacitors, switches.
  • Assist Street Lighting Electricians with fault finding and repair.
  • Assist with excavations for installations of feeder pillars, lighting columns, signposts, bollards, EV charge points and speed cameras.
  • Management of onsite point of work risk assessments.
  • Identify and report safety observations.
  • Set up and removal of site traffic management / pedestrian management.
  • Responsible for company property, equipment and vehicles.

  • Excellent attention to detail & self-motivated.
  • Able to demonstrate technical knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Must be comfortable working within a team as well as working alone.
  • Capable of working at height.
  • A good level of written and numerical skills.
  • A demonstrable ability to learn new processes quickly.
  • IT skills: Excel, Word, ability to use a tablet / apps.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
