About Our Client: Our client is a large organisation within the financial services industry. Highly respected and globally recognised, they are renowned for their commitment to excellence, innovation, and professionalism in the banking and financial services sector.

Programme Assurance Manager will be responsible for providing assurance to all bank stakeholders on a large portfolio of projects (up to 15-20 concurrently). This includes (but is not restricted to):

  • Providing an expert project management view of the management and delivery of the projects and programmes.
  • Ensuring all project/programme assurance processes are carried out effectively.
  • Carrying out expert reviews and analysis of project and/or programme deliverables.
  • Ensuring the management of projects and programmes is carried out according to agreed methods and standards, and industry best practice.
  • Providing assurance to project Governance bodies (this may be both written and verbal).
  • Overseeing and managing the quality of programme delivery within the financial services department.
  • Assessing, consolidating and reporting back on key programme/project progress towards delivery and benefits realisation and adherence to standards for relevant SteerCo meetings.
  • Contributing to the evolution and maintenance of the bank's programme/project management information, training, tools and templates.
  • Identifying, analysing and reporting on the themes arising from lessons learned contributions from Programmes and Projects entered into a central database.
  • Developing and implementing assurance plans to ensure programmes are executed effectively.
  • Leading project teams to ensure goals are met and standards are maintained.
  • Analysing programme performance and making necessary improvements.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure programme objectives align with business goals.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks to programme delivery.
  • Producing and presenting regular programme assurance reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

A successful Programme Assurance Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in project/programme management and project assurance.
  • Professional certification in Programme Management or Quality Assurance.
  • Experience working within a controls environment such as internal audit or project controls.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in risk management and quality assurance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proven track record in programme management within the financial services sector.
  • Sufficient credibility and gravitas to ensure that advice and guidance are followed.
  • A proven track record of strong communication skills across all corporate grades.
