One of our clients are actively looking for a DC engineer to service their clients across London.

Data Centre project

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, termination, and maintenance of structured cabling systems to support the critical infrastructure of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Conduct cable pulling, routing, and dressing in compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairs on cabling systems.
  • Ensure proper labeling and documentation of cabling infrastructure.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other team members.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Cable Technician in data centre or large-scale commercial projects.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, ANSI).
  • Ability to use cable testing and certification tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic and copper cabling installations.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and high-security environments.
  • Certifications such as BICSI, CCNA, FOA, or equivalent are an advantage.
  • Must be physically fit to work in confined spaces and lift heavy equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
