About the Role
Lynx Employment is recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 (Cat C) Gritter Drivers for the upcoming winter season in the Manchester area. This is an essential public service role that helps keep roads safe and operational during icy and snowy conditions. You’ll be responsible for operating gritting vehicles and ensuring planned routes are effectively treated during adverse weather. Full route training and vehicle familiarisation will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV 2 gritting vehicles on designated routes
- Carry out pre-use checks and ensure vehicle readiness before deployment
- Follow route plans and spreading schedules accurately and responsibly
- Maintain clear and accurate records of spreading activities and mileage
- Assist with other depot duties during downtime (as required)
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' proven experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles
- Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Comfortable with early starts and responding to call-outs at short notice
- Good local road knowledge of Trafford and surrounding areas is beneficial
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently
