My client in the Hellaby area of Rotherham are looking for experienced Auto Electricians. The role involves identifying faults, repairing or replacing components, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose electrical faults across a range of vehicles and equipment through inspections and testing.
  • Repair or replace wiring, lighting, air-conditioning, safety control systems, alternators, batteries, starter motors, and other electrical components.
  • Install and maintain electronic systems, including telematics.
  • Use diagnostic tools and wiring diagrams to identify and resolve faults.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete job documentation in line with company procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with workshop staff and liaise with the Workshop Supervisor on daily tasks.
  • Follow safety regulations, report hazards, and ensure PPE is used correctly.
  • Keep the workspace clean and adhere to company health and safety protocols.
  • Support workshop operations when needed, including supervisory duties where required.

ISO & Compliance

  • Follow company policies related to ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Support waste segregation and proper disposal procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong ability to diagnose electrical faults in automotive systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring fundamentals and the ability to read circuit diagrams.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
  • Experience in vehicle electronics with good mechanical knowledge.
  • Customer-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Level 2/3 in Auto Electrical and Mobile Electrical Principles.
  • BTEC HNC Diploma or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds LGV 2 (desirable).
  • Forklift qualification (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence.
