We are working with a US-based proprietary trading firm specializing in fixed-income relative value strategies. The firm is in a growth stage due to sustained strong performance and has begun taking external capital from investors. They are looking to add PM and trading talent from fixed income relative value backgrounds, ideally with a fixed income focus (but open to other markets) and with a high Sharpe track record. They are looking to grow their London office but are open to speaking with candidates based elsewhere and are open-minded when it comes to hybrid and/or remote working.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within an innovative and growing business, coupled with the potential for remote working. We expect this opportunity to be most attractive to candidates who have high-Sharpe but somewhat capacity constrained strategies who are looking to maximise their payout from their performance. The firm has greater empathy and understanding towards risk taking, meaning stop limits etc. are more trader friendly. The firm is also more patient than many contemporaries when it comes to giving people time to build their portfolios.
Requirements:- Proven track record (2+ Sharpe) in fixed income relative value trading or portfolio management, preferably at a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or investment bank.
- Understanding of fixed income instruments, including bonds, interest rate swaps, futures, and options.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, ideally with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Excellent risk management acumen and the ability to navigate complex market environments.
- Self-motivated with a strategic mindset, capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Please note that the firm does not offer guaranteed bonuses or buy out any outstanding deferred payments. Due to demand, we are advertising this role anonymously. If you would prefer to speak to someone before submitting a CV, please send a blank application to the role and someone will be in touch to discuss. We can only respond to highly qualified candidates.
