The Recruitment Group is working with a fast-paced, full-service print company, offering a wide variety of high-quality printed products. They pride ourselves on delivering exceptional results under tight deadlines. They\’re now looking for an experienced Print Production Manager to join their collaborative and hands-on team.
Purpose of the Print Production Manager Role:
The role will be to manage daily print production operations, ensuring jobs are delivered on time and to specification, while working closely with other managers to coordinate workflow, drive efficiency, and maintain high standards across all departments. You will work closely with the existing Production Manager, Warehouse & Despatch Manager, and Production Admin Assistant. This role involves close collaboration and shared responsibility, including cross-cover during absences.
Key Responsibilities for a Print Production Manager:
- Monitor and manage the production schedule, flagging and resolving potential delays
- Communicate job statuses and any changes to Customer Service Representatives and Account Handlers
- Liaise with Finishing and Hand Finishing Supervisors to ensure efficiency and correct job logging
- Coordinate with the Despatch team to ensure timely outbound deliveries
- Oversee and maintain accurate task records and job tracking through MIS
- Ensure maintenance schedules for finishing equipment are up to date
- Review timesheets and ensure productivity is accurately recorded
- Handle holiday/absence tracking for the department and notify relevant stakeholders
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date task entries within the production schedule
- Scrub and close job bags according to internal procedures
- Cross-train with other Managers to ensure full coverage during absences
Key Requirements for a Print Production Manager:
- Previous experience in print production management (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of print processes, machinery, and job tracking systems
- Understanding of laydowns, impositions, finishing processes, and ideally die-cutting/form work
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in print MIS, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work under pressure, juggle priorities, and improve workflows
- A hands-on, proactive approach with a keen eye for accuracy and accountability
- Experience in the packaging sector (Desirable)
- A working understanding of print processes from start to despatch
