Senior Platform Engineer - Fixed Term Contract in Manchester

Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer

Location: Manchester (1 day per week on-site)

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract

Flexible Working: Hybrid (1 day in-office, 4 days remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on Microsoft Azure
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Support the integration, deployment, and monitoring of Data Warehousing solutions
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and DevOps teams to ensure robust platform performance and availability
• Implement best practices in security, scalability, and disaster recovery
• Contribute to architectural decisions and support development lifecycles across environments
• Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation
• Solid understanding of Data Warehouses and supporting technologies (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Good understanding of networking, security, and compliance within cloud environments
