My client is a National charity based in South East London looking for an Interim Deputy Head of Finance for a 12 month FTC. The role is full-time, hybrid, with 2-3 days a week in the office. The role will be reporting to the Head of Finance.
The Deputy Head of Finance will:
- Lead on payroll delivery
- Support the production of management accounts
- Maintain cash flow
- Line manage the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant
This is a hands-on role, ideal for a candidate with a strong financial background and excellent team leadership skills. My client is looking for a proactive detail-oriented finance professional to lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll queries and liaise with external payroll providers
- Identify and implement improvements to payroll systems and internal controls
- Produce first-draft monthly management accounts with full balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
- Maintain and update forward-looking cash flow forecasts
- Support the preparation of year-end management and statutory accounts
- Work closely with the Head of Finance to provide timely and accurate financial reporting to Budget Holders
- Manage, support, and develop the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant through supervision and appraisal
- Contribute to delivering a 5-star service across the organisation
