Social network you want to login/join with:Interim Head of Service (Asset Management and Building Safety), LondonClient:Location: London, United KingdomJob Category: Other-EU work permit required: YesJob Views:3Posted:04.06.2025Expiry Date:19.07.2025Job Description:We are currently looking for an Interim Head of Service (Asset Management and Building Safety) to join a Local Council in Yorkshire as soon as possible for a 3-6 month period whilst they recruit for the permanent post.This role falls inside IR35 and requires on-site presence 2-3 days per week.As Head of Service – Asset Management & Building Safety, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the council\’s housing stock, ensuring homes are safe, sustainable, and future-ready.You will lead strategic planning and delivery of asset management, building safety, and capital investment across housing stock, ensuring compliance with Decent Homes Standards and building safety legislation, aligning with Net Zero goals.This leadership role involves working closely with elected members, tenants, contractors, and internal teams to deliver safe, warm, and sustainable homes.Key Responsibilities:Lead strategic asset management and building safety for council housingOversee capital investment programs and ensure safety regulation complianceDevelop and implement a 30-year Asset Management StrategyEngage tenants actively in service deliveryManage large budgets, contracts, and procurement processesProvide expert advice to senior leaders and elected officialsPromote innovation, performance, and continuous improvementLead a high-performing team across asset strategy, compliance, and capital deliveryQualifications:Proven leadership in asset management and building safetyStrong knowledge of housing legislation, compliance, and Decent Homes StandardsExperience managing complex capital projects and large budgetsAbility to influence senior stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teamsPassion for delivering safe, sustainable housing and excellent tenant outcomesMust have: Local Government/Housing experience.If interested, please send your latest CV, availability to start, and day rate (inside IR35) to [emailprotected] by 9 am Tuesday, June 3rd.Note: Due to high application volume, only successful candidates will be contacted.
