Our client, a specialist law firm based in central London, is seeking a new Legal Secretary Co-ordinator / Legal Secretary Supervisor. Reporting to the Legal Secretarial Services Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of Legal Secretaries who provide support to the firm’s litigation fee earners.
Key duties include:
- Guiding and advising the team - mentoring and coaching.
- Monitoring workloads across the team to ensure work is balanced.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for fee earners during the absence of their secretary and coordinating work allocation during secretarial absence.
- Liaising with fee earners for feedback and relaying this to the team on a one-to-one basis.
- Conducting 1-1s and appraisals.
- Acting as a channel for communications between the team and Senior Leaders.
- Attending weekly Team Leader meetings and conducting daily meetings with your team.
- Ensuring new team members are successfully integrated, e.g., assigning a buddy and arranging secretarial training as part of induction.
- Monitoring any conduct or performance issues within the team and dealing with them in accordance with HR procedures.
- Flagging any concerns to the Secretarial Services Manager.
- Providing support with other activities, for example, secretarial projects, as required.
- Assisting with the recruitment of new secretaries, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and providing feedback to the recruitment team.
- Assisting with the annual salary review for your team.
