Our Contingent Workforce Solution (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.We are looking for a Finance Manager – FP&A for an initial 12-month contract based in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs. The role follows a hybrid model with 3 days on-site.

Job description – the role

This role sits within the Financial Planning team, responsible for consolidated financial forecasting, reporting, and analysis for the group. It involves delivering performance insights to both internal and external stakeholders, supporting leadership and Group FP&A. The position offers broad exposure across the business and focuses on improving forecasting processes and providing high-value financial analysis to support decision-making

As a Finance Manager – FP&A, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of short- and mid-term financial forecasts, including budgets and updates for senior stakeholders. Responsibilities also include variance analysis, preparing forecast presentations, and supporting year-end activities using forecast data.
  • Acting as the VBM subject matter expert for Civil, ensuring data integrity in forecasts and providing guidance to the wider business to enhance analysis and insight.
  • Leading improvements in forecasting processes across Civil via taking an active lead role in the Civil Planning community of practice. This would involve improvements to timetables, forecast models, communications and assumptions guidance etc.
  • Delivering high-quality, insightful financial management information and analysis to directly support the Civil Aerospace Leadership Team (CALT) and Group FP&A in decision-making.

What we require from the candidate:

  • A qualified and experienced Accountant.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills with a proactive, self-starting attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to deliver business insights and influence senior management through clear, concise communication.
  • Experienced in VBM/HFM systems, especially SmartView, and highly proficient in MS Excel.
  • Demonstrates a track record in process improvement and constructively challenging business practices.
