About the role:
Group Metropolitan are currently looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager to join our forever expanding Fit Out Division in London. This position is ideal for a driven individual who is keen on progressing into Project Management. Within this role, you will be working within sectors such as Commercial, Retail, Financial Frameworks & Data Centres.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Production of RAMS and issuing
- Responsibility for all H&S matters on site
- Surveys of projects and smaller works
- Signing in/out, inductions, toolbox talks, near miss reporting, registers etc.
- Site waste plan and management on site
- Occasional pricing projects/recommending labour and materials to estimating team
- Receiving job pack from commercial and PM team following Client PO to carry out the works
- Reading drawings and interpreting scopes
- Updating of RFI schedules
- Management of Site Supervisors and PAYE staff on site
- Logistic Management on projects
- Organising labour and materials on projects
- Better buying to maximise profit without compromising on quality
- Attending Client and contractor meetings
- Quality control and walk round on projects
- Project reporting
- Variation control and reporting
- Cost Management alongside PM
- Project sign offs
- Firestopping database uploads
- Project close out documentation and O&M
- Maintain good PC filing always in accordance with ISO certification
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience within fit out/construction industry with trade background
- Client facing with the ability to meet and discuss operational matters with Building Management, Staff and Client representatives
- Forward thinking individual with the ability to make own decisions
- Very capable on use of MS packages and e-permit systems
- Strong and effective communicator
- Ability to take an active part in Client and Subcontract meetings
- Ability to programme manage and sequence with other trades
- Unfazed by change and does not get stressed too easily
