The Role

  • Provide strategic legal leadership across all business units within the region.
  • Act as the key legal advisor to senior management and regional boards.
  • Manage a wide variety of commercial, corporate, and project-related legal matters.
  • Negotiate high-value contracts and support risk review processes.
  • Lead on dispute resolution, pre-litigation strategy, and litigation management.
  • Serve as Company Secretary for regional entities and ensure sound corporate governance.
  • Oversee compliance with legal, regulatory, and data privacy frameworks.
  • Mentor and manage a regional legal team of eight professionals.
  • Contribute to global legal strategy and collaborate with international legal peers.
  • Support internal training on legal, integrity, and contract matters.

The Person

  • A Master of Law degree and a valid UK practising certificate (SRA-registered).
  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience in construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
  • Proven leadership of legal teams and capability to advise C-suite and board stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of contract law (including FIDIC, NEC4, or equivalent frameworks).
  • Strong commercial judgement and ability to lead negotiations in high-stakes environments.
  • Experience in compliance, data privacy, and integrity-related investigations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
