What's involved?

Export Manager's responsibilities include:

  • Export Documentation: Prepare and process essential export documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Shipping Coordination: Arrange and monitor shipments via road, sea, and air freight, liaising with freight forwarders and carriers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Customs Compliance: Ensure all exports comply with HMRC regulations and international customs requirements, including accurate tariff classifications and declarations.
  • Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for international clients regarding shipping schedules, documentation, and any export-related inquiries.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate stock levels for export orders and timely dispatch of goods.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all export transactions, including shipping documents and correspondence, for auditing and reference purposes.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline export processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Experience:

  • Previous experience: Previous experience in an export or logistics role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with export documentation systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a focus on customer service and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
