Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000 to £35,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

The Role

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for growing the customer base and maximising sales opportunities. You will manage your own portfolio of accounts, build long-term client relationships, and ensure all customer needs are met with professionalism and accuracy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling incoming sales calls and email enquiries
  • Creating accurate quotes and processing orders
  • Supporting customers with product and service queries
  • Maintaining a customer-focused approach in all interactions
  • Developing existing customer relationships
  • Actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Interpreting technical documents and working collaboratively with internal teams
  • Meeting sales targets and contributing to business growth

About You

You are someone who enjoys working directly with customers, providing excellent service from initial enquiry through to delivery. You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a similar sector
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Experience with CAD and interpreting technical drawings
  • A good understanding of metal specifications (advantageous)
  • Strong English and Maths skills
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • An HNC/HND or similar qualification in Engineering (preferred)
  • A proactive attitude and potential to grow into the role (junior candidates welcome)
