Job DescriptionDuty OfficerSalary and grade: £32, 367 per year, Grade 4Duration of role: PermanentHours per week: 37Location: The Beacon, WantageClosing date: 10th June 2025About the role and what were looking forThis is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused and enthusiastic front of house professional with strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills to help ensure The Beacon remains a welcoming and well-run community venue at the heart of Wantage.When on duty during performances, classes, private hires, cinema screenings, or general opening hours, the Duty Officer is responsible for the full front of house operation. This includes coordinating casual staff and volunteers, supporting visiting performers and hirers, and overseeing public access to ensure the smooth, safe, and customer-friendly delivery of our services.The Duty Officer will also act as the responsible person for the building during their shift, ensuring the safety and security of The Beacon, its users, and its resources, and responding to any incidents or operational issues as they arise.The Beacon runs events throughout the year, including evenings and weekends.
