Risk Advisory is a well-established department in the UK & Ireland region of Energy Systems and is primarily responsible for delivery of Advisory and safety management services to ensure that all operations are completed safely. Our team provides high quality services and best practice in risk identification, assessment and mitigation and assist our customers in risk-based decision support. This approach is highly valued through the whole energy value chain ranging from O&G (upstream, midstream, downstream), the evolving hydrogen and CCUS sectors, and in the allied areas of the Energy Transition (renewables).

As Principal Consultant you will be part of our Integrity Advisory team of ~35 specialists, covering offshore fixed and floating structures, pipelines (transmission and distribution), onshore process plant and increasingly, renewables, including wind, solar and storage. Our Integrity Management offering provides end to end services including policies, procedures and standards, inspection planning, corrosion control, fitness for service, damage evaluation and failure analysis.
You will be working with the Material and Corrosion team who are currently heavily involved in energy transition, failure investigation and CP related projects. The main responsibility will be to support project delivery, providing technical leadership, as well as supporting bids and sales efforts, working with our dedicated Key Account Managers.
Key accountabilities:- Technical Delivery
- Provide expert level knowledge in materials engineering, materials failure, and materials selection and suitability for different services.
- Provide technical problem solving expertise related to hydrogen impact on pipeline networks.
- Provide expert corrosion engineering knowledge to lead corrosion failure investigation, corrosion growth analysis and corrosion management.
- Provide expertise in CP performance evaluation, design and failure investigation.
- Support research and testing projects across various sites in the UK and Ireland.
- Provide training to internal staff and clients to support the culture of excellence in technical delivery and identifying needs for service delivery, development and innovation.
- People development
- Support our engineer’s competency development through mentoring and training.
- Support Head of Section with growth and development plans; enabling evolution of services and identifying areas of growth.
- Support a culture of learning within the team, through empowerment, ensuring they are supported and developed to achieve their potential as well as driving continuous improvement and service delivery.
- Commercial
- Work closely with the Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered within budgets and schedule.
- Support department to achieve its annual targets by supporting proposals preparations, client meetings and man-hours estimates for pricing.

The Asset Advisory team is predominantly based out of our Loughborough office. Whilst we offer hybrid working arrangements, it’s important that you’re located within a commutable distance or able to travel to the office on a regular basis.
