A leading engineering contractor with a strong UK and European project footprint is seeking an experienced BMS Engineer to join its team in London. This is a permanent role offering excellent long-term prospects, working on technically advanced projects across commercial, data centre, and pharmaceutical sectors.
You will be responsible for the coordination, technical delivery, and commissioning support of building management systems as part of major multidisciplinary construction projects. The role offers the chance to work in a collaborative, agile team environment with clear career development pathways and exposure to some of the most complex builds in the region.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the coordination of BMS design and installation activities across mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Support the project team from early-stage handover through to commissioning and final delivery
- Review and prepare technical submittals, manage RFIs, and ensure timely issue resolution
- Lead procurement activities, including requisitioning, order tracking, and site-level delivery checks
- Interface with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to address technical and commercial queries
- Conduct system inspections, walkdowns, and snagging exercises to ensure quality and compliance
- Support the generation of risk assessments, method statements, and commissioning documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of quality and continuous improvement
- Degree-qualified in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- 4+ years experience in a BMS or mechanical project engineering role
- Experience working on large-scale builds in the data centre, commercial, or healthcare sectors
- Strong working knowledge of MEP coordination and BMS integration
- Skilled in evaluating technical documents, developing solutions, and contributing to value engineering
- Confident communicator with a collaborative approach to problem solving
- Familiar with UK health, safety, and environmental compliance standards
- Detail-oriented, organised, and committed to delivering quality
- Salary in the range Up to £100,000 + Travel + Car Allowance
