The Role

As a Technical Claims Specialist, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end management of a diverse range of commercial property claims. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring claims are handled efficiently and strategically, with their best interests at the forefront. The technical claims team sits behind the frontline claims handlers, acting as the referral point for tricky, complex and challenging cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex referred claims for the frontline handling teams
  • Review and interpret policy coverage, liaising with clients on required documentation and disclosures
  • Advocate for clients’ interests in negotiations with insurers, loss adjusters, and other third parties
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic claim records and ensure all SLA standards are met
  • Support technical discussions and provide guidance on complex or high-value claims
  • Produce reports and attend claims review meetings as required
  • Mentor and support less experienced team members when needed

Experience required

  • Proven experience handling UK commercial property claims; experience in CAR, Casualty, or Financial Lines is a bonus
  • Ability to interpret and apply policy wordings confidently
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisation
  • Confidence working directly with clients and managing stakeholder relationships
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving and technical leadership
