A respected public sector organisation is currently seeking a Heating Inspector to join their Project Delivery team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in mechanical inspection and heating systems to make a significant impact in the delivery of critical housing improvement programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and report on Natural Gas, Oil, planned, and response maintenance contracts to ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, technical specifications, and quality standards.
  • Carry out inspections at various construction stages and produce detailed electronic reports highlighting workmanship, materials, and health and safety compliance.
  • Maintain a daily diary and submit comprehensive weekly electronic reports to project management.
  • Liaise regularly with Contract Administrators, Project Managers, and Clerks of Works to report findings and escalate issues requiring immediate attention.
  • Support handover processes and ensure accurate record-keeping using mobile and desktop technology in line with organisational protocols.

Essential Criteria:

  • Applicants must meet one of the following: A degree (or equivalent) in a technical/construction-related field with at least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience, or A BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) with 3 years' relevant experience, or 4 years of demonstrable experience in construction maintenance (exceptional cases considered).
  • Specific technical qualifications required: Gas Safe (CCN1 - essential; CENWAT - desirable) OFTEC 101 (essential); 105 & 600 (desirable).

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills for creating and delivering technical reports.
  • Proven analytical skills and decision-making ability based on regulatory and policy interpretation.
  • Competence in using MS Office and IT systems for record keeping.
  • Full access to transport to travel to sites across the region.
