We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to take ownership of key financial processes, lead a growing team, and provide insightful financial reporting across the business. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in management accounts, financial control, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly Cost Centre P&L and Balance Sheet reports. Review depot-level expenditure and provide insights for management. Attend monthly management meetings with detailed financial commentary and variance analysis.
- Financial Control & Oversight: Create and maintain schedules for accruals, prepayments, HP interest, and depreciation. Ensure accurate month-end close processes.
- Cashflow & Budgeting: Manage company cashflow, oversee payment schedules, and ensure appropriate liquidity levels. Support the design and implementation of the company budget and eventually build robust cashflow forecasting models.
- Team Management: Lead and develop a finance team including: 2 x Assistant Management Accountants, 3 x Accounts Apprentices, 1 x Payroll Administrator, 1 x Credit Controller. Oversee daily finance operations and support team development.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the first point of contact for all finance-related queries from internal departments and external stakeholders. Liaise with department heads to ensure clarity on budgets and performance.
- Audit & Compliance: Manage and coordinate year-end audit preparation, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor requests. Maintain high standards of financial accuracy, compliance, and integrity.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified (e.g. ACCA, ACA)
- Proven experience in a similar Finance or Senior Management Accounting role
- Strong understanding of management accounting principles and financial controls
- Experience managing or mentoring a team
- Excellent Excel skills; experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct a big bonus)
