Commercial Manager – County Durham (Permanent Full or Part Time, On-Site)

Belcan Workforce Solutions is hiring a Commercial Manager to join a leading UK organisation specialising in life sciences and advanced manufacturing, based in County Durham. This is a permanent, full-time or part-time role working on-site daily, supporting the delivery of a major EPCM Framework.

As a Commercial Manager, you will lead procurement and contract administration across a range of complex construction projects. You'll support the Managing Surveyor in developing commercial strategies, managing supply chain relationships, and ensuring profitability and compliance. The role involves upstream and downstream contract management, NEC4 contract administration, cost control, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage procurement processes, contract negotiations, and supplier performance.
• Administer contracts, payments, variations, and forecasting.
• Support project teams with commercial advice and risk mitigation.
• Ensure accurate reporting, cash flow management, and cost-value reconciliation.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to project success.

Requirements:

• 5+ years' experience as a Commercial Manager in construction or life sciences.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and UK procurement legislation.
• Degree-qualified; RICS membership preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and COINS systems.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
