The role for successful candidates is to work on teams tasked with the design and execution of realistic yet innovative solutions across the entire asset lifecycle of alternative investment managers, owners and operators. The roles primary focus will be on Finance and Operations responsibilities within the operating model, focusing on the oversight and outsourcing responsibilities for alternative investment managers within their operating model. Our projects include developing strategic information management plans and roadmaps, conducting operational reviews and audits, designing operational / process improvements, implementing and optimizing operating models, and enabling technology solutions across the operating model of investment managers and advisors as well as institutional investors, sovereigns, endowments, trusts and family offices.This position is part of an overall, global Business Consulting team that is collaborative and supportive towards providing the best client service with consistent high-quality deliverables. The candidate must be able to identify and investigate problems outlined by the business teams, then drive towards an effective solution.This will include:Business AnalysisProcess ImprovementData Migration and Reconciliation Strategy SupportReport SpecificationsSystem ImplementationThe Senior Consultant will work closely with Engagement Leads as well as both Client and Vendor teams to document functional business requirements, map out current state and target state business processes, analyse and identify gaps against industry better practices, review and cleanse client source data, develop and execute system test plans, develop report specifications and undertake final system testing and end user training. The implemented software solutions are typically used by front, middle and back office within our Asset and Fund Manager clients as well as institutional limited partner clientsResponsibilitiesSupport projects and implementations from initiation to client Go-Live and beyondLearn and apply Alpha Alternative’s project methodologiesUnderstand the nuances of Alternative Investment operations or subjects related to the completion of projectsPrepare for and conduct business requirement interviewsDocument business requirements, processes (level 1, 2 and 3) and data/reporting requirementsUnderstand the client’s existing business processes and assist the client in defining improved business solutions based on the client’s strategic goals and constraints, based on Alpha Alternative’s industry Accelerator templatesWork with clients to analyse their current and future business needs, recommend best practice solutions, and define and document project deliverables for these solutionsManages project progress, monitoring milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of schedule and identify / mitigate riskProduce detailed status reports, track actions, and manage progress meetingsQualifications and SkillsMinimum of 2-5 years of combined experience in Business Consulting, Business Analysis, System Implementations, Investment Management or Operations preferably within the Alternative Investment industryStrong understanding of Alternative Investment Manager Operating models, either through prior experience in fund operations role, fund administration role or auditing of Alternative Investment vehiclesExceptional communication, organisation, interpersonal & client-service skillsExperience with strategy, operating and technology project execution and guiding clients through complex transformation initiativesStrong communication skills with the ability to create a compelling story from data analysisThe ability to interact with vendors and partners to acquire technical information critical to a project’s requirements, costs or executionStrong project management and coordination skillsProven skills in documentation, process mapping (Visio), and other Microsoft Office toolsDetail-oriented mindset with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvementHands-on knowledge of asset management industry systems a plusCompensation and BenefitsCompetitive salary and bonusLearning and development: vast opportunities to self-development, unlimited access to LinkedIn LearningFlexible working: work-life balance with flexible scheduleCommunity events: we offer a range of social events and meetups25 days’ holiday in addition to public holidaysWellness initiatives to promote healthy working, including a gym reimbursement for those enrolled in our medical plans and an allowance for remote working technologyThis is an excellent opportunity to join our growing Global consulting business, with the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of projects across the alternative investment industry.
