VANRATH are delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative utility provider based in Belfast to recruit an NI System Planning Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business at the beginning of a new chapter of enhanced system planning for the NI gas transmission system.
Reporting to the General Manager, the NI Gas System Planning Manager will be responsible for:
- Implementing the new business function and ensuring deliverables are met, namely the production and publication of the Gas Adequacy Statement and the Energy Horizons document.
- Defining, managing and implementing the communications plan associated with NI gas system planning, ensuring a high level of stakeholder engagement.
- Engaging with policy makers, industry, operators, academia and other relevant stakeholders to gather data and information for system and energy modelling.
- Coordinating and collaborating on the system planning publication process alongside the electricity system operator (SONI).
- Working closely with the relevant NI gas TSO departments to define scenarios and assumptions for system modelling.
- Project managing the end-to-end development of the system planning publications to ensure timely delivery.
- Attending and participating in various working groups to ensure knowledge sharing of local and UK wide policy affecting NI energy strategy.
- Engaging and presenting the final reports to industry via meetings, presentations or conferences.
- Carrying out internal training and knowledge sharing centred on system planning.
- Providing subject matter expertise on NI system planning, representing the NI gas TSOs in engagements with internal and external parties.
- Developing the NI system planning function in line with future requirements of the NI Gas TSOs.
About you:
- 3rd level qualification.
- Significant relevant experience in an energy environment, ideally within the power/gas sector.
- Knowledge and experience of renewable energy policy relating to net zero.
- Knowledge of various renewable energy technologies and their applications.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management experience.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Sound judgement and decision making skills.
- Strong organisational and analytical capabilities with attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic, committed self-starter with a proactive approach.
- Ability to set high standards of performance and deliver desired results.
