A Power & Gas IT Developer is needed to join a growing Commodities Trading company, working on end-to-end development focused on building and supporting cutting-edge applications for the expanding Gas & Power trading desk, with a strong emphasis on Oracle PL/SQL, .NET, C#, and desktop-based development.
This is a greenfield project, working directly with traders and middle office stakeholders, shaping the future of the European Gas & Power trading capabilities. You will be the go-to developer for all new initiatives on the desk, playing a pivotal role in delivering robust, scalable, and regulatory-compliant solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain front-to-back trading applications using .NET (C#, WCF/WPF) and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Collaborate closely with Gas & Power traders, middle office, and risk teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Build and support regulatory reporting tools across regimes such as MiFID II, EMIR, Dodd-Frank, MAS, CSA, etc.
- Develop and maintain messaging and integration layers using RabbitMQ and other middleware technologies.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, using Agile methodologies (Kanban).
- Act as a subject matter expert for Gas & Power IT systems, ensuring high availability and performance of trading tools.
- Provide ongoing support for newly developed systems, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
Specialist Knowledge – Gas & Power Products:
- Deep understanding of Gas & Power trading products, including but not limited to: Guarantees of Origin (GoOs), Exchange-traded derivatives, Gas storage contracts, Gas swing contracts, Fixed retail power profiles, MBGP (Market-Based Gas Pricing) products.
- Ability to translate the complexities of these products into IT solutions that support trading, risk, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience in building systems that support regulatory compliance for these instruments is essential.
