As Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the company’s regulatory compliance framework. You will ensure that all business practices, processes, and operations comply with current legislation, industry standards, and customer requirements. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, environmental, health & safety, and quality standards (e.g., BRCGS, FSC, Sedex).
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Lead audits (internal and external) and coordinate corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on compliance risks and performance metrics.
- Conduct regular training and awareness sessions for staff.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, and senior management teams.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a compliance or quality management role, preferably within manufacturing or packaging.
- Strong understanding of relevant UK regulations, including environmental and H&S legislation.
- Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or BRCGS standards is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and compliance management systems.
- Full and valid UK driving licence & access to a car as this role is based across two sites in Southend.
- Right to work in the UK.
