Quality Control Technician (Night Shift)
Location: Newry
Rate of Pay: Nightshift rate is- 13.50 per hour and this is 10pm – 6am – 5 nights per week (Close down Friday night) so Saturday work required, and it is an 8pm start.

Key Responsibilities
- In-Process Testing: Conduct routine checks (weight, temperature, pH, visual) on production lines and record results.
- Finished-Product Inspection: Sample and inspect finished goods against specifications; release or quarantine products as required.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete QC logs, non-conformance reports, and trending analyses.
- Equipment Calibration: Verify and calibrate scales, thermometers, and lab equipment to ensure precise measurements.
- Corrective Actions: Investigate deviations, perform root-cause analysis, and implement or recommend corrective/preventative measures.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to GMP, HACCP, ISO, and company SOPs; maintain a clean, audit-ready lab environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with production, maintenance, and technical teams to resolve quality issues in real time.
What You Bring
- Experience: 1-2 years in a QC or lab role within food manufacturing (or similar regulated environment).
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with lab instruments, sampling plans, and basic data analysis.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional observational skills and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Night-Shift Mindset: Reliable, self-motivated, able to thrive during overnight hours
- Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate discrepancies methodically and propose practical solutions.
- Communication: Clear and concise reporting skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent
- HACCP certification or ISO 9001/22000 awareness
- Laboratory Apprenticeship or NC in Food Science/Quality Assurance
