We’re working with a leading UX/UI design studio that partners with top AAA game developers to craft high-quality game interfaces. They’re currently looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to join their Brighton-based team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will be working directly in engine to bring game UI to life on major projects—and leading a talented team along the way. This role is ideal for someone who has experience with Coherent frameworks within an Unreal Engine environment, and a strong passion for video games and great UI.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead a team of 5+ frontend developers in creating immersive, performant game UI
- Work in-engine to implement UI features using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript-based libraries
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers across multiple genres and platforms
- Ensure performance and polish across all UI elements, from loading states to animations
- Participate in iterative UX/UI development cycles using tools like Coherent Gameface and React/Redux
- Support the integration of automated QA processes and scripting/data binding workflows
- Maintain high standards of accessibility, consistency, and technical excellence
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience developing game or web UIs
- Proven experience with HTML-based UI in a game engine environment
- Proficiency with tools/libraries such as Coherent Gameface, React/Redux, jQuery, WebPack, or Anime.js
- Background in UI performance optimization and automated testing
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing development teams
- A portfolio that showcases relevant work on shipped games
- Experience with custom CSS/JavaScript solutions and data-binding techniques
Bonus Points For:
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine and/or Unity
