Seat Functions Engineer Location: Crewe Contract Inside IR35 35-Hours per week Hybrid – 2-days a week on site Overview of the Role We are seeking a Seat Functions Engineer to join the Interior Engineering team, focusing on the development of advanced seating functionality. This role involves the technical definition, delivery, and management of innovative vehicle seat systems, incorporating both electrical and mechanical elements. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and technical partners to ensure the successful integration of seat functions while adhering to Functional Safety Processes (ISO 26262). Key Responsibilities of the Seat Functions Engineer Take technical ownership of the Vehicle Function process within Seating, defining electro-mechanical logic and functionality. Develop customer-focused seating concepts, demonstrated through physical prototypes. Generate and manage new functional concepts for seat systems. Collaborate with technical partners to deliver Functional Safety compliance to ISO 26262 for seating functions. Monitor and report functional development status at key project gateways. Define requirements for the Architecture Team to support project delivery. Liaise with group colleagues to develop future seating functions and ensure alignment with group requirements.
