Role Overview: You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust, scalable, and efficient billing solutions that support this growing broadband and fibre business. You will hold a deep understanding of BSS architecture, telecommunications billing processes, and the unique challenges and opportunities presented by high-speed data services.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design and architecture of BSS solutions for broadband and fibre services, ensuring alignment with business requirements and strategic objectives.
- Evaluate and select appropriate BSS platforms and technologies, considering factors such as scalability, performance, cost-effectiveness, and integration capabilities.
- Define and implement billing processes, including rating, charging, invoicing, payment processing, and revenue assurance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to billing and data privacy.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to billing solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless integration of billing solutions with other systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in BSS and the telecommunications industry, particularly in the broadband and fibre space.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and architectural standards for BSS.
- Contribute to the overall enterprise architecture strategy.
- Participate in vendor evaluations and contract negotiations.
- An experienced background within Solution Architecture, with a strong focus on Billing Solutions (BSS), ideally within telecommunications.
- Hands-on experience with BSS platforms and technologies (e.g., Amdocs, Oracle BRM, NetCracker, CSG).
- A good understanding of telecommunications billing processes, including rating, charging, invoicing, payment processing, and revenue assurance.
- Knowledge of broadband and fibre billing models, including usage-based billing, tiered pricing, and bundled services.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and protocols (e.g., TM Forum Frameworx).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge of CRM and other related business support systems.
- Experience with cloud-based billing solutions and microservices architecture is desirable.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
