As an Embedded Design Engineer, you will play an integral part in the business, utilising your embedded software experience and electronics. You will work in a small multidisciplinary team to develop exciting new electronic products for a wide range of applications, including medical devices, wearables and the Internet of Things.
The Position:
- Work from customer requirements to define and develop new products
- Write requirements and system design documentation
- Collaborate in a team environment to deliver innovative solutions
- Develop high-quality embedded software in C / C++
- Work on bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux environments
- Board bring up and test
- Liaise with customers to assist with integration, commissioning, and problem resolution
- Have a good understanding of the compliance and standards process for electronic products
This position involves occasional client meetings and writing technical reports, so a professional level of written and spoken communication is required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of embedded software and electronics design experience
- Degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline (or apprenticeship)
- Embedded C / C++
- Electronic Design
- Good understanding of real-time systems
- RTOS or Embedded Linux
- Debugging software and hardware using JTAG, oscilloscopes, and serial comms
- Proficient with Altium (or similar)
- Write and speak English at a professional level
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with WIFI, Bluetooth, Zigbee
- Python
- Architect software and electronic designs
